Lets talk about the most important part of our health. Our immune system!! Oour immune system is like an army. It is constantly on high alert, it learns and adapts over time, and it will always fight to save your life. So, how do we add more and stronger warriors to your immune system? Here are my tips…

 

  1. Vitamin C– If you have ever seen the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding, one thing that they do is use windex for everything! Vitamin C is that for your health. I could talk about the benefits of vitamin C all day. It builds a strong immune system, decreases the duration and intensity of the common cold, inhibits the ability of a virus to replicate, and it is a huge anti-oxidant– which means that it is anti-aging. I recommend liposomal vitamin C because it is actually able to pass through what is called the phospholipid bilayer or your cells.
  2. Mushrooms! I am not talking about the kind you buy at the grocery store. I am talking about the strong immune building mushrooms such as mycotaki and reishi. Mushrooms have been used for centuries in eastern medicine to build and heal the immune system. Research further shows that mushrooms provide exceptional nutritional efficacy in supporting a healthy immune system.
  3. Vitamin D– I like to explain Vitamin D as the quarterback of our immune system. It actually is very similar in structure to cholesterol. One of the most amazing things about our bodies is that we are able to produce our own vitamin D. When sunlight hits our skin it starts the process of making Vitamin D. The scary thing is that a study completed in 2011 showed that 42% of Americans are vitamin D deficient. I would argue that it is actually much higher than that. If you live in a cold climate like I do, we don’t get any direct sunlight for at least 6 months a year. This is why we need to supplement with a highly absorbable vitamin D called D3. Vitamin D is a fat soluble nutrient so we need to consume it in an oil or fat. Adding Vitamin K2 also increases our absorption of Vitamin D.

2 capsules- 3 times daily.
